War in Heaven; Satan and His Angels Were Cast Out

The evil continued to work until the spirit of disaffection ripened into active revolt. Then there was war in heaven, and Satan, with all who sympathized with him, was cast out. Satan had warred for the mastery in heaven, and had lost the battle. God could no longer trust him with honor and supremacy, and these, with the part he had taken in the government of heaven, were taken from him. — {RH January 28, 1909, par. 6}

The Father decides the case of Satan, and declares that he must be turned out of Heaven for his daring rebellion, and that all those who united with him in his rebellion, should be turned out with him. Then there was war in Heaven. Christ and his angels fought against Satan and his angels, for they were determined to remain in Heaven with all their rebellion. But they prevailed not. Christ and loyal angels triumphed, and drove Satan and his rebel sympathizers from Heaven. — {3SG 36-38, 1864}

The chief tempter is he who rebelled in the heavenly courts. It was a long, severe chapter of deception and satanic wiles. He had been carrying on his work day by day until his wiles could be tolerated no more because he was misinterpreting God, Christ, and the true and loyal angels by his satanic inventions. “And there was war in heaven” and Christ and his loyal angels fought until every soul that was liable to act on Satan's side was expelled for the safety of the loyal angels. [Revelation 12:7, 8.] — {14LtMs, Ms 198, 1899, par. 5}

Satan in his rebellion took a third part of the angels. They turned from the Father and from His Son, and united with the instigator of rebellion. — {3T 114.2}

The loyal Angels in Heaven mourned the fate of those who had been their companions in happiness and bliss. Their loss was felt in Heaven. — {1SP 23.1 SR 19.1} (ST January 9, 1879, par. 11)
